Program Description
The Kentucky General Assembly mandates that many professionals, including certified and licensed social workers receive training in the recognition and prevention of pediatric abusive head trauma. Pediatric abuse head trauma, commonly referred to as Shaken Baby Syndrome, is a form of physical abuse that involves infants and young children, and often has a severe impact on development. This training is intended to assist with preventing pediatric abusive head trauma by providing information related to risks factors, diagnostics indicators, as well as prevention strategies for soothing infants and regulating the adults in a caregiving role.
