C.J. was born and raised in Hardin County Kentucky and lives in Elizabethtown with her husband Ryan and son Caden. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Transylvania University and her Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy from Western Kentucky University. She has spent over 15 years working with Children and Families in both Crisis Services and Outpatient Therapy. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor-Supervisor, licensed through the Kentucky Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist licensed through the Kentucky Board of Marriage and Family Therapy and a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor through the Association of Play Therapy.

C.J. has extensive training in Play Therapy. She has been specially trained in Child Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), The Incredible Years Programs, the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy, and the Batterer’s Intervention Program (BIP). C.J. has additional training in working with children who have experienced trauma as well as attachment related needs including post-adoption family therapy focused on attachment. She further specializes and enjoys working with families in therapy.
C.J. also provides clinical supervision to therapists wanting to earn their Registered Play Therapist Credential.
